I have just listened to a presentation by Maggie Verster at the ICT Conference in Johannesburg. Maggie introduced the concept of tweeting for thinking, or twinking! She used Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy to illustrate how twitter fits in. If a teacher tweets a question, which calls on students to think critically, then she is twinking!
Neat new term!
Twitter is above all, a tool for asking questions and getting answers from your network, quickly. I think what challenges most teachers is how on earth it can actually be used in the classroom. I would simply say, start. Just do it. As soon as you start to see it in action you will start to understand how you can use it.
